Last day of the last PADI IDC of 2020.

As expected a roller coaster of emotions and lots to learn for the Candidates but the IDC Staff saw them though.

A small challenge we run during the IDC’s results in a winning Team and this time the Girls just managed to steal victory on the last exercise so well done Team”Lets get Nudi”

A plethora of goodies awaiting the winners and a consolation price for the runner ups.

2020 has been a challenging year for all Dive Centres and PADI Pros but we are confident that 2021 will see a return to great opportunities for everyone.

Time for us to say goodbye to Jason and Ben

Part of meeting so many amazing and wonderful people, is the inevitability, of having to say goodbye.

Time for us to say goodbye to Jason and Ben.

Jason joined us as a non-certified #diver and after completing, all of his PADI courses, and his #PADI #Divemaster stayed with us to gain experience……… and he stayed………. and stayed……….. and stayed until finally it was time for him to return home to #Switzerland

Jason has become part of the furniture and was always willing to lend a hand to a new or experienced diver.

There are rumors he was going to also get a haircut when arriving home, but we think this is just fake news 😉

Ben was another of our PADI #Pros who had no interest in returning home after successfully completing his Divemaster program and stayed for an indefinite period of time.


He too has decided the time is right to return home.

We will miss both of these characters and wish them all the very best for the future and hope one day to meet with them again.

Ryan traveled over from #Wales after just trying diving in his local pool.

HUGE Congratulations to Becky and Marlene on successful completing their #PADI #Divemaster program.

The 2 #girls have been super #positive since day one and would be an asset to any Dive Centre they choose to work in.

We are so happy to be part of the journey that introduces females like this into our industry, as we could all do with some #positive #vibes at the moment

Marlene is staying in #Tenerife for a while and can speak English, Swedish, Norwegian as well as her native #Danish.

Skills Assessment for PADI Dive Master and IDC candidates

A combined #PADI #Divemaster and #IDC Candidate #skills assessment was carried out by our very own PADI Platinum Course Director with the Team.

The “performers” on the Stage for this assessment were Gabriel, Millie, Cath, Jason, Alicia and Ryan.

They were all so relaxed and chilled, Millie and Jason even nodded off during the picture taking!

Needless to say all demonstrated the skills and passed the assessment.

Time for sad farewells, this time to Cath, who successfully completed her #PADI #Divemaster and has to make her way home to #England
During her time here she managed to fit in 5 PADI #Specialities to make her a PADI Master Scuba Diver #MSD and her Divemaster.

Cath was extremely popular, not only among her Peers, but also the Staff who are sad to see her leave 😕

Day out Diving at Yellow Mountain

While some of the Crew were on a Study Day, the “old” Newbies went off on a jolly to Yellow Mountain.

#PADI #CD Kim was joined by Cath, Sabby, Jason, Alicia and Millie for some spectacular dive’s at one of our old favorites #dive sites.

In actual fact, Course Director Kim done her first ever dive at the site many years ago……….. well not that many years ago, as she is still very young………….. 😮

It was once said “CD” stood for Completely Dry, well that may be true in other DCs but not at the #TDA

We never have time to stay dry for long and so it was time for #PADI #CD to go and and show her stuff to 2 newbies Elodie and Chai.

They started there Open Water course and had the amazing Assistants of Cath, Millie and Thomas.

When was the last time on your dive the guys were out numbered 5 to 1 by the girls!!

Our Course Director goes for a jolly with the Underwater Scooters

For what seems like no reason at all other than #fun #PADI Course Director Kim , took newly certified PADI #OWSI and #Divemaster Alicia out for a jolly on the #DPV (Underwater Scooters) around #Abades Bay.

After an hour they returned having been to the furthest edges of the Bay, Trumpet Fish Cave and down to some 25 meters.

A hugely enjoyable dive and with virtually no effort at all.

Our newly certified #PADI Staff #Instructor , Zeke, was back at the #TDA to put into action all of the updated techniques and theory he has just learned on the last PADI #IDC.

He had the pleasure in training and certifying 2 new Open Water Students, Cameron and Hamilton, from #Ireland and #England

Needless to say they passed with flying colours and are looking forward to starting the PADI Advanced Diver course after spending this week doing fun dives.

This week brings a slightly quieter time to our #PADI Dive centre as the new Instructors have completed all of their MSDT Prep training.

Our new PADI Instructor Professionals ready to take on the MSDT

After the excitement of the #PADI #IE where yet again we had a 100% Pass rate, and after a well deserved day off, the new #Instructors were back for yet more training.

To ensure our PADI Instructors are ready to get that all important first #scuba #diving job we provide them with #MSDT Prep.

As we have the only in-house PADI Course Director who can teach Instructors, and with more than 25 Specialties on offer the possibilities are endless.

We are now entering our 12th year of training PADI Pros in #Tenerife and we are not only the Official Number #1 PADI training Centre but also the most experienced, no-one has trained more PADI Pros than our Team.

Finally, back after his Staff Instructor course, Zeke from Granadilla Diving, was back to complete his PADI Search and Recovery Instructor Specialty.

It goes without saying, he successfully completed all the requirements, to add yet another PADI course to his already expansive offerings at his Dive Centre.

A tremendous effort by everyone.

Obviously as we have the most amazing House Reef outside our Dive Centre that was our first destination.

With Assistance from #Divemasters we had a great dive around our Reef with one of our smaller #Turtles visiting us for a short while.

12 days, including the Emergency First Response Instructor course, and we already have pride in what our #Candidates have achieved.

From a group on individuals from #Poland #France #SouthAfrica #Belgium and #Czechoslovakia they have worked hard to become a united Team.

After a very long, fun, exciting dive we were pleased to say that our House Reef at #Abades is still looking pretty pristine with only minimal debris.

As restrictions are reduced across the world, #PADI #Dive Centres are gearing up, to welcome all of their clients and friends back to the amazing #underwater world.

Aside from learning new #scuba techniques from the highest qualified #CD in #Tenerife, they were also delighted to spot 3 #Rays , 3 #Octopus and 2 #Turtles .

Back in the water after a long lockdown

As yesterday was World Oceans Day, it seemed the perfect day to get back into the water after the long #Lockdown here in #Tenerife

PADI Course Director Kim, Master Instructor Pete, #Divemaster Aidan and #DMT Marta spent the morning checking our House Reef and in particular the extensive Grass area that has grown exponentially in the last few months.

Overall we are happy with the condition of our Reef, but as was expected, the intrusion of plastic gloves and masks was evident.

As we are the only #PADI #Dive Centre, located at the beautiful #Abades #Bay , we have carried out many many Dives Against Debris and Beach Cleans ups over the years and it shows, as we have many other Dive Centers from all over the Island who spend hours travelling to visit, what we have on our doorstep.

We will be open and fully operational soon and will return to maintaining the dive site to its very high standards so everyone can enjoy our amazing aquatic world.

In the meantime it was great to get the Team back doing what they love… #diving

We have amazing news that effective from the 1st July International Tourist’s will be allowed to return to our beautiful Island.

She is also undertaking #Conservation work for Frontier in #Tenerife

Theresa joined us for her #PADI #DSD #Discover #Scuba #Diving Experience with #MSDT Instructor Awena .

She performed really well and despite not finding our resident #Turtles had an awesome time on our House Reef which is a Marine Protected Area.

With a little while to go before returning home to #Germany we may even see her again.

Time to say goodbye to Oli and Jess

All good things come to an end……

Time to say goodbye to Oli and Jess.

After some 18 months, here in #Tenerife and achieving more than 350 certifications, Oli is leaving to fulfill his lifelong dream of working for the BBC on a certain “wildlife” program.

Oli joined us to complete his #PADI #Divemaster certification and then went on to become a PADI #Instructor

After this he went on to become a PADI #MSDT and then Staff Instructor where he helped on several IDC’s.

He has had an impact on so many of our #PADI #Pros during his time here and we wish him well on his amazing new #adventure.

Jess has a similar story, starting her training to become a Divemaster then onto Instructor and then MSDT.

Since February she has amassed nearly 200 certifications, a great achievement for a new Instructor.

Also going with them is Archie who they adopted from the local Dog Rescue Shelter.

We wish them both well back in #England and look forward to hearing updates of their #travels
